Which cable do I need?

Your amp has a square USB-B socket on the back (the printer kind). The simplest way to a USB-C phone is one USB-C to USB-B cable on Amazon (paid link).

Already have a USB-A to USB-B printer cable? Add a USB-C OTG adapter on Amazon (paid link). Older micro-USB phones need a micro-USB OTG adapter (paid link). The cable must carry data: charge-only cables won't work.

Which amps work?

Fender Mustang I, II, III, IV and V (v1 and v2), the Mustang Floor, and Boss Katana MkI and MkII amps with a USB port. Mustang III, IV and V show all 100 of their presets.

Not yet: Mustang LT, Mustang GT/GTX and Katana Gen 3. More amps are on the way; write to us with the one you have.

Mustang v1 or v2: does it matter?

Both work, and the app detects which one you have. The v2 has extra amp models and effects; on a v1 you only see what your amp can play, and v2-only parts are swapped for the closest match.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not at the moment. reFUSED talks to the amp directly over USB, which Android allows. It needs Android 8 or newer.

It won't connect. What now?

Check that the amp is on, the cable carries data (try another one) and your phone supports USB OTG. On OnePlus, Oppo, Realme and Vivo phones, OTG is a switch in Settings (search for “OTG”) that turns itself off after about 10 minutes unused. Unplug and plug back in: reFUSED opens by itself when it sees the amp. Still stuck? Write to support@refused.app with your amp and phone model.

What can I do with reFUSED for free?

Everything on the amp: every amp model and effect, the deep settings the front panel never shows, the amp's own presets, your own preset library, setlists with a one-tap gig mode, and a tuner. No ads, no account, and it stays free.

Will it overwrite the presets saved in my amp?

No. reFUSED plays sounds live and never writes to the amp's memory, so your saved presets stay exactly as they were. Want a sound stored in the amp itself? Press Save on the amp, as always. In the app you can keep as many presets as you like.

What happened to Fender FUSE? And why not Boss Tone Studio?

Fender no longer supports FUSE, the old editor for the Mustang, so owners were left with only the amp's own knobs. reFUSED brings a modern editor back to the phone, and it opens your old FUSE preset files. Katana owners still have Boss Tone Studio; reFUSED is a lighter, phone-first way to play with the same amp.

What does the AI do?

Type a song, an artist or just a feeling. reFUSED looks up the gear on the original recording and sets your amp to match in seconds: amp model, pedals, levels. It also tells you which pickup to use and where to put your guitar's tone and volume knobs. Then ask for changes: "more gain", "less reverb".

Premium includes 150 AI tones every month; a follow-up change counts as one.

How much is Premium, and how do I cancel?

$3.99 a month, $29.99 a year, or $59.99 once (founders' price). Google Play shows the price in your currency. Cancel anytime in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions; full amp control stays free either way.

What data do you collect?

Almost none. No account, no ads, no analytics. Your presets stay on your phone and the USB connection never leaves it. Only the AI feature talks to our server: it sends the text you type and a random install id used for fair-use limits. Details are in the privacy policy.

Are you Fender or Boss?

No. reFUSED is an independent app, not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Fender or Roland/Boss. Product names are used only to say which amps it works with.
